the world celebrate other festivals Diwali, Holi, Valentine’s Day,
Christmas etc now Sikhs are going to celebrate a festival devoted to
their turbans ‘Turban King Day’. This step is very wonderful and we
appreciate the efforts of this organization.
A turban (from Persian, dulband; via Middle French turban) is a type of
head wear based on cloth winding. Featuring many variations, it is worn
as customary head wear, usually by men.
All Sikh Gurus since Guru Nanak Dev Ji wore turban. However, the
covering of hair with turban was made official by Guru Gobind Singh Ji,
the tenth Guru of Sikhs. The main reasons to wear turban is to take care
of the hair, promote equality, and preserve the Sikh identity.
Turban is a precious gift by Guru Gobind Singh Ji to whole Sikhism. It
symbolizes the unique identity of Sikhs among other communities. It is
not a fabric but a mark of pride and there should be a special day or
event for Turban.
First time in the history of Sikhism, Turban King Organization which is
well known for their religious tasks is arranging an event named ‘Turban King Day’. This event is going to celebrate at 1st of January by tying
kesari turbans, dumala, dupatta and patke. The main motive behind this
event is to sum up all Sikhs and non-Sikhs whether they are men, women
or children under single shade Saffron (Kesari). The importance of this
color in Sikhism can be seen in the National Flag as lot of Sikhs got
martyr for their country during freedom fight and the government of that
time decided to include Saffron shade at the top of our national flag
by the impressive and unforgettable co-operation of Sikhs.
Promotions are on full swing and Turban King Organization is heading
this event. They are appealing to every Sikh and non-Sikh to promote
this event & turban worldwide.It is a joint venture from all Sikh sangat and even non- Sikhs can
celebrate this festival by tying kesari colored turbans. Children will
tie kesari patke and women will wear kesari dupattas.It would be great that whole Sikhism will be seen in kesari color and this also shows unity of this religion.

ਮੀਟਰ ਦਾ ਕਪੜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਲਕਿ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹੈ. ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ
ਹੀ ਦਸਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਹਮੀਅਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਦਸਮ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ
ਦਸਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖੀ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਜਰੂਰੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਚਿਨ੍ਹ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ. ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਸਿਖ ਨੂੰ ਦਸਤਾਰ
ਸਜਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ. ਦਸਤਾਰ ਸਿਖੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਕੀ ਧਰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਵਖਰੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਦਿੰਦੀ
ਹੈ.
ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਟਰਬਨ ਕਿੰਗ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕਈ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦਸਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਵਿਚ
ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਵੱਲੋਂ ਟਰਬਨ ਕਿੰਗ ਦਿਨ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ. ਇਹ ਦਿਨ ਇਕ ਤਿਓਹਾਰ
ਦੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਭਰ ਵਿਚ ੧ ਜਨਵਰੀ ੨੦੧੬ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ. ਸਿਖ ਵੀਰ ਕੇਸਰੀ

ਸਿਖੀ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਦਿਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਿਖੀ ਖਾਲਸਾਈ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ
ਰੰਗੀ ਹੋਵੇ.
